Thank you to all who left open spaces for the incoming vehicles this morning around Units 178-186. This was most appreciated as we had 5-6 loaded trucks with Boy Scouts and bags of mulch. The Boy Scouts were in and done in 1.5 hours. They had to go and get 2-3 truck loads more of mulch to fill all the open areas between Units 178-186 and the left entrance area.
Take a walk around the property and see how nice the grounds are looking around Unit 164 - 186. If any of you can, please get out and water the plants as they need a lot of water to get them to re-establish. We should have sod coming in this week to do the back/side area of Units 176 and 178. This will also need extra watering to get the sod established.
We have to use the side areas around the dumpsters to place the excess landscape debris and load the dumpsters on the days that the dumpsters are being picked up. Have patience, we will get all these areas cleaned up soon.
We will be bleaching all the retaining walls, power washing the sidewalks, retaining walls and several of the units where we have currently been cleaning away the excessive overgrown landscaping. I will be getting a landscape plan pulled together to plant new plants in the areas that are vacant. Please be patient as it takes time to get all this work done.
The next area that will be addressed by the maintenance personnel this week is Units 162 - 128 This is a big area and a lot of work will need to be done. Please make sure that the basketball hoop is removed (as it is not allowed on the property). Be sure to clean up any front patios and remove any items that are not allowed. We thank you for your help in getting Lake Villas back to its beautiful state.
God willing - and the straps arrive as promised. We will be strapping pool furniture this week.
We will continue to work on repairing front doors, if your front door is in need, send me an email and I will get you on the list. We can schedule a date and time, as Jordan and Anise need access to have the door open and/or may have to remove it if there is more intense damage. Remember if your door needs repair there will be a charge to you, the owner. We will evaluate and discuss this with you as we come around.
I am working on getting the roofs and gutters completed.
Had a glitch between pricing with the electrician, the insurance company verification needs, and meeting our deadline. We are still working on securing this project. We are moving forward on March 9, 2023 with installation of alumicons. There have been several bumps in the road, but we are pushing hard on this issue to stay on schedule. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES. We have approximately 4 weeks booked out, we need the rest of the members to get on schedule. BINGO - this is making a hit. With such success, we believe that we need to break BINGO into 2 different nights (a) BINGO FOR THE OVER 55 year old crowd and (b) BINGO FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. We believe we would like to tailor more kid entertainment, so we could use some help. Calling all parents to provide their ideas of what fun events we can incorporate into the family bingo night. Which night is the best, what other games we can have to stimulate the kids, who can help run the event, how to set up the clubhouse for the most fun. IDEAS we are open and willing to establish something fun for the kids in the community. COME FORTH call Nancy and Bobbie and they will assist in getting this orchestrated. The Kids in Lake Villas need something fun to look forward to also!!! Maybe incorporate pool time with supervision of course.
MORE TO COME - IT IS EXCITING TO SEE THE CHANGES OCCURING. Please make a point of thanking the maintenance personnel for their hard work. Working outside in Florida is brutal and we are grateful for these guys and their efforts to bring this property back. Please be patient. It is necessary to be aggressive with the plantings as these beds are a mess. They will come back in about 2-3 months, you will see the difference. We have multiple bushes being formed into one bush, we have tree seedlings growing up in the bushes, we have tree seedlings that have been formed into a hedge, we have unwanted overgrowth up against the buildings, we are uncovering sprinkler coverage problems and uncovering buried sprinklers. We are uncovering our termite boxes and fixing the rat boxes. We are noting pavers that need fixing. So a lot of things are involved in the exterior maintenance that is occuring .
