We want to make everyone aware of a fraudulent email address someone created using Tim Schmidt's name. They are requesting Apple Gift cards from board members. While we assume they got our Lake Villas board email addresses from our website, we want to notify everyone else in case residents are also contacted.
Please don't send money/gift cards via email, wire transfer, etc. or share any personal information. If you ever receive an email from someone you know requesting money, call that person to verify. While on this topic, the Top Notch portal has been updated to allow credit card/bank account payments through their website in addition to accepting checks -- they will NOT email you asking you to pay them in any other way. Please be cautious when it comes to internet safety, and let us know if you have any questions!
